From deadstock of an American brand that is a titan of NY fashion and woven in Italy, this is an exceptional all-cotton twill doubleface with a super soft, lightly brushed surface on both sides. It is a lightweight coating or medium suiting weight with a reversible design that features a unique, decorative selvage which can be used as a feature. This fabric is warm and substantial but not dense or stiff with some cottony body in the drape. One side has a tweedy herringbone weave with a .5" horizontal repeat in a sophisticated pairing of blue and black yarns for an overall impression of a subdued dark navy blue. The reverse has a pinstripe design running vertically, also with a .5" repeat, in a blue-leaning dark gray with white. The selvedge is neat and attractive; mixing a blend of both main colors in a .5" border along each selvage. Since this fabric is completely stable, you may lay out your pattern pieces either way, allowing you to place the selvage at sleeve, pocket or collar if desired. The options are endless! Test first if you'd like to machine wash at home. Use cool water and tumble dry low, or dry clean.
NOTE THAT THE PINSTRIPE SIDE IS SLIGHTLY IMPERFECT AND PRICED ACCORDINGLY. THERE ARE OCCASIONAL PULLS ON JUST THE PINSTRIPE SIDE OF THIS FABRIC, OCCURING RANDOMLY THROUGHOUT. PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW ALL PHOTOS BEFORE PURCHASING.
